Obituary of Dorothy Bachman Holster
Dorothy Louise Bachman Holster passed away on June 7, 2013. She was born on October 21, 1923, to Louis and Alice Bachman in the Birmingham Community and was raised there and in the Mabry Community. After that, she lived in Clarksville for most of her life. On June 6, 1943, Dorothy married Bert Holster, her husband for sixty-one years. They had two sons, Jesse and Jim.
She was predeceased by her husband, Bert (November 13, 2004), and her son Jim. She is survived by her son Jesse and his wife, Cindy, and her brother, Curtis Bachman, and his wife Virginia. Also surviving her are her grandchildren Matt (and Walsie) Holster of Fort Worth; Rob (and Michelle) Holster of Myrtle Creek, Oregon; David Holster of College Station; and Andy (and D’Ann) Holster of College Station. She leaves behind nine great-grandchildren, two nieces, a nephew and several great nieces and nephews.
Dorothy was loved by all who knew her, both family and friends. She was a devoted wife and mother and an extraordinary grandmother and great-grandmother. She faithfully served the Clarksville Independent School District as dietician for thirty-seven years and was a life-long member of St. John’s Lutheran Church. The lives she touched in her family and professional life are too numerous to count, and she will be greatly missed.
A visitation with family will be held at Clarksville Funeral Home on Sunday, June 9, 1:00 p.m. Graveside services are 2:00 p.m., at Fairview Cemetery with Rev. Mike Kimmell officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home.
