Obituary of Carl Wilburn Childres

Carl Wilburn Childres, age 92, of the Lone Star Community, passed away, Friday, April 13, 2018, at Paris Regional Medical Center.  Mr. Childres was born, April 27, 1925, in Red River County to John Nowlin and Sally Elizabeth Presley Childres.  He enjoyed ranching, the outdoors and playing 42.  His wife, Blanche Thomas Childres, daughter, Charlotte Bishop, and grandchildren, Carla Cope, Junior Bishop and Josh Belcher preceded him in death. 

Visitation will be Sunday from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., at Clarksville Funeral Home.

Funeral services are set for 10:30 a.m., Monday, April 16, 2018, at the Lone Star Methodist Church with Rev. Don Shovan officiating.  Burial will follow in Lone Star Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home.

Survivors include 2 sons, Eddie Childres of Lake Charles, Louisiana and Tommy Childres and wife, Julie of Fulbright; 1 daughter, Sheilla Martin and husband, Kenneth of the Lone Star Community; 1 sister, Inez Johnson of Bogata; 5 grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren.
