Obituary of James Ross Eilers

James Ross “PAPA” Eilers, age 71, of Cuthand, went to meet his Lord and Savior, Monday, April 16, 2018, at his brother-in-law’s home in Vega.  We know he isn’t suffering anymore and is able to breathe again without fighting for his breath.  Ross loved to fish at Cooper Lake with his grandson, Cody Murphy.  His love of his life was his daughter, Cami.  He was so proud of his grandson, Michael Ross Murphy who is serving our country in the U.S. Air Force.  His son-in-law was like a son he never had.  He married Linda Wooten on January 14, 1972, in Cuthand and they were married for 46 years. Ross served his country in the U.S. Army.  He was retired from Luminate Power Plant in Mt. Pleasant.

Funeral services are set for 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 20, 2018, in Lindeman Chapel of Clarksville Funeral Home with Bro. David Logan, Bro. Dennis McClintic and Bro. George Spears officiating.  Burial will follow in Cuthand Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends Thursday night from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., at Clarksville Funeral Home.

Ross is survived by his wife, Linda Eilers of Cuthand; 1 daughter, Cami Murphy and husband, Michael Paul of Bagwell; 2 grandsons, Michael Ross Murphy and wife, Nina and Cody Lane Murphy; 2 sisters, Jo Ann Roberts of Clarksville and Sharon Horne of Keto, Oklahoma; 4 brothers, Wayne Eilers and wife, Virginia of Clarksville, Max Eilers and wife, Cindy of Washington, Ted Eilers and wife, Cindy of Gainesville and Bruce Eilers of Clarksville; a special brother-in-law, James Wooten wife, Gayle of Vega; a special sister-in-law, Sandra Callahan and husband, Alan of Clarksville; and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank everyone for the kindness shown to them during their time of sorrow.
