Obituary of Cornelia Raulston
Cornelia Elizabeth Raulston, age 89, of Clarksville, passed away, Sunday, July 1, 2018.
Cornelia was born March 20, 1929, in the McCuray Community of Red River County, the daughter of William Andrew “Shorty” and Bertha Pyles Sweeden. She attended school in Clarksville, graduating in 1946. She was a member of College Avenue Baptist Church. She married A.M. Raulston, Jr. on February 2, 1946. Cornelia worked in her father’s store and meat market until 1971. Cornelia went to work in the Business Office at Red River County Hospital and East Texas Medical Center. She was the business office manager for 19 years and trained many ladies and made many friends. Cornelia retired at the age of 70 after 28 years of service. Her dear husband, A.M. Raulston of 47 years; her parents; her father and mother in law, Albert and Johnie Raulston; infant daughter, Teeva Beth; brother, James “Tate” Sweeden; sister, Cecile Fay Roberts; 1 great grandchild, Alice Ruby Hays; 1 great-great grandchild, Payton Elisa Carter; 4 brother-in laws, Kenneth and Opal Raulston, Morris and Barbara Raulston, Jack Raulston and Melvin Raulston, preceded her in death.
Survivors include 2 sons, James Raulston and Milton Raulston; 3 grandchildren, Stacie Lewis, Jacob Raulston and wife, Camille and Tara Hays and husband, Brian; 1 great grandson, Gavin Mitchell Raulston; 4 great granddaughters, Krystalle Goller and husband, Steve, Elizabeth Paige Young, Lauren Taylor and husband, Zack and Hanna Kate Hays; great-great grandchildren, Sienna Wilber, Aubrey Young Taylor, Callie Taylor, Alison Goller, Austin John Wilber, Easton Carter, Trey Taylor and Andrew David Goller; sister-in-law, Carolyn Ann Jones and husband, Paul; brother-in-law, Jones Wayne Roberts and several dear nieces, nephews,great nieces, nephews and a host of other family members and friends who were precious and special to her including her Thursday Lunch Bunch and my dear friend Ruby.
Funeral services are set for 2:00 p.m., Thursday, July 5, 2018, in Lindeman Chapel of Clarksville Funeral Home with Rev. James Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends an hour before service time at Clarksville Funeral Home.
