Obituary of Don Eudy
Don Howard Eudy, age 74, of Clarksville, passed away, Tuesday, August 21, 2018, at Paris Regional Medical Center. Don was born, December 5, 1943, in Salina, Kansas, the son of Howard and Louise Duke Eudy. Don was a 1962 graduate of Clarksville High School and served in the National Guard and the U.S. Army Reserves. He retired from the Texas Department of Transportation where he was most recently a Maintenance Supervisor working for the department from October 1, 1977 until November 30, 2002. Don was very active in his community. He was a member of Friendship Lodge #16, AF&AM where he received his 50 year Masonic Pin. Don was President of the Stone Chapel Cemetery Association. He received the 2016 RSVP Volunteer of the Year Award and the 2017 Red River County Chamber of Commerce Citizen of the Year Award. He was a longtime volunteer at the Clarksville Food Pantry. Don served as Chairman of the Deacon Body and on various committees at the First Baptist Church in Clarksville. He married Ann Giddens on July 1, 1967.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Mickey Eudy; and grandparents, Robert and Ladonia Duke and Oscar and Lucy Eudy.
The family will receive friends Thursday, August 23, 2018, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., at the First Baptist Church of Clarksville.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Thursday, August 23, 2018, at the First Baptist Church of Clarksville with Rev. Mark Gossett officiating. Burial will follow in Stone Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are Johnny Drew, Bill Mabry, Larry Don Graves, Alan Bean, Murl “Corky” Whitley and Stanley Ward.
Survivors include his wife, Ann Eudy of Clarksville; his sons, Chad Eudy of Clarksville, Brad Eudy and wife, Beverly of Paris and Tad Eudy and wife, Courtney of Clarksville; his grandchildren, Stoney Johnson, Justin Eudy and Avery Eudy; father-in-law, George M. Giddens; brother-in-law, George G. Giddens and wife, Nanette; sister-in-law, Barbara Conlan; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Don’s name to the Clarksville Food Pantry, 946 FM 1159, Clarksville, Texas 75426 or the Stone Chapel Cemetery, 129, CR 2010, Clarksville, Texas 75426.
