Obituary of Christine Roden Lipe

Christine Roden Lipe, age 85, of Boxelder, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Saturday, August 25, 2018, at Focused Care Nursing Center in Clarksville.  Mrs. Lipe was born July 26, 1933 in Boxelder to John J. and Jesse Peek Roden.  She married Joe W. Lipe on January 2, 1949 and they made their life on the farm in Boxelder.  Together they worked their farm and raised four children.  Christine earned her nursing degree from Paris Junior College and worked many years at Clarksville Nursing Center where she cared for many patients she had known all of her life.  She was an avid reader and the Bible was her favorite book.  In the last few years she was a resident of Focused Care Center in Clarksville where their amazing staff cared for her.  Both the staff and residents knew they could come to her and discuss the Bible.  She also spent time in prayer and witnessed to those who came to her room.  Christine loved the Lord and realized the most important role of a parent is to introduce their children to her Lord Jesus Christ.  Mrs. Lipe is preceded in death by her husband, Joe Lipe; her brothers, John Blaine, William Thomas and Leo; and her sister, Mary Edna Warthan.

Survivors include four children, Tena Segleski and husband, Mike of Powderly, Bobby Lipe of Boxelder, Mike Lipe and wife, Linda of Boxelder and Nina Lipe of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; her brother, Harold Roden and wife, Marita of Dallas; her grandchildren, Mike Segleski, Matt Segleski, Christy Williams, Michelle Morgan, Chancy Lipe and Emily Lipe; fifteen great grandchildren; and 3 great-great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Monday morning from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at Clarksville Funeral Home.

Graveside services are 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 27, 2018, at Savannah Cemetery with Rev. Dink Benton officiating.  Burial will follow under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in Mrs. Lipe’s name to the Boxelder United Methodist Church.
