Obituary of Joan Phillips
Joan Phillips, age 81, of the Lone Star Community, passed away, Thursday, October 25, 2018, at her residence, after a lengthy illness. Mrs. Phillips was born, January 3, 1937, in the Fulbright Community to J.D. and Doris Chesshire Skaggs. She graduated from Bogata High School. Joan was employed by Clarksville Independent School District for many years as Secretary to the business office. She enjoyed time with her family and friends. Joan was a talented musician and had a beautiful singing voice and a member of the Church of Christ.
Funeral services are set for 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 28, 2018, at the Fulbright Church of Christ with Bro. Evan Butler and Keith Bollman officiating. Burial will follow in Lone Star Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends Saturday afternoon from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Clarksville Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are Adam Wilburn, Aaron Boudreau, Jason Wilburn, Zachary Phillips, Will Phillips and Reese Phillips.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack E. Phillips; and her grandchildren, Ashley Wilburn and Ryan Phillips.
Survivors include her children, Beverly Sustaire and husband, Marty of Paris, Marsha Brown and husband, Randy of Mt. Pleasant, Eddie Phillips and wife, Cathy of the Lone Star Community, Jack Baxter Phillips of Paris and Benjamin Phillips and wife, Tiffany of Blossom; grandchildren, Adam Wilburn, Aaron Boudreau and wife, Melissa, Jason Wilburn, Courtney Phillips, Zachary Phillips, Will Phillips, Reese Phillips, Sara Hilton, Mindy Barrow, Autum Phillips, Aubrey Phillips and Jack Phillips; great grandchildren, Nolan Boudreau, Logan Boudreau, Spencer Hilton, Elijah Hilton, Logan Barrow and Landon Barrow; brother, Charles Skaggs and wife, Annette of Bogata.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Kandy Pulliam and Kim Evans and her other caregivers.
