Obituary of Herminie E. Pope

Herminie Edith Pope, age 81, of Avery, passed away, Thursday, December 13, 2018, at Christus St. Michael Hospital in Texarkana.  Mrs. Pope was born in Gilmer on April 24, 1937, to Ernest W. “Pete” and Gladys Mae Green Norris.  She was of the Baptist faith.  Her husband, John Pope; and her son, Martin Dale Pope preceded her in death.

Funeral services are set for 1:00 p.m., Monday, December 17, 2018, in Lindeman Chapel of Clarksville Funeral Home with Rev. Deanie Lambert and Rev. Matthew Butler officiating.  Burial will follow in Avery Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home.

Visitation will be an hour before service time at the Clarksville Funeral Home.

Pallbearers are David Lee Switzer, Sr., David Lee Switzer, Jr., James Fowler, Brian Malone, Tom Asmus and Brooke Lennon.

Survivors include her daughter, Teresa Nevill and husband, Dwight of New Boston; three grandchildren, Jackie Nevill of Malta and James Fowler, Tonya Nevill of Simms and Brian Malone and David L. Switzer, Sr. of New Boston; five great grandchildren;  seven great-great grandchildren; her Prodigal son, Anthony Phelps of Avery; and special neighbors, Ross and Lisa Lennon, Brook and Jullia Lennon and Kyle and Vanessa Lennon all of Avery.
