Obituary of Barbara Jean Black
Barbara Jean Shipp Black, age 69, of Bagwell, passed away Tuesday, November 02, 2010, at her residence. She and her husband owned G. C. Black Grocery in Bagwell from 1978 to 1998. Barbara was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend.
She was born in Clarksville to William Edward and Mary Agnes Roberts Shipp. She married Gleamon Black on December 23, 1960, in Idabel, Oklahoma and was a member of the Bagwell Baptist Church.
An infant son, Robert Don Wooley and two sisters, Sue Long and Mildred Cooper preceded her in death.
Funeral services are scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Saturday, November 6, 2010, in Lindeman Chapel of Clarksville Funeral Home with Rev. Karl Bush officiating. Burial will follow in Blanton Creek Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are Raymond Long, Danny Miller, Ronnie Joe Yarbrough, Ray Hastings, Dickie Ewing and Tom Green.
Survivors include her husband, Gleamon Black of Bagwell; a son, Eddie Black and wife, Joyce of Bagwell; a daughter, Lecia Emerson and husband Tiger of Paris; four grandchildren, Cassy Haley, Candice Mallory, Dylan Emerson and Lea Emerson; and four great grandchildren, Chloe, Jack, Eben and Nola.
