Obituary of Elizabeth Faye Elrod

Elizabeth Faye Elrod, 75, left this earthly world on January 12, 2019, at Clarksville Nursing Center, after a warrior battle with lymphoma. Elizabeth was born October 7, 1943, to John and Arie Jesse Hayes Richardson. From the start she was a fighter and a force to be reckoned with. She married Ola Parker and had two sons. After the loss of Ola she worked hard to raise her sons to be the best men they could be. On March 5, 1976, she married John Thomas Elrod and for the next 42 years they had a life full of love and family. Elizabeth transformed from mother to granny with the birth of her first granddaughter, Jessica.  She spoiled her granddaughters with anything their hearts desired. She worked as a machine operator at Magnolia Brush Factory for twenty years and was a caregiver to several families until 2013. She retired and dedicated her time to gardening, baking and family. She is preceeded in death by her parents; her brother, Joe Earl Huddleston; and her first husband, Ola Parker.

She is survived by her husband, Johnny Elrod; her sons, Charles Parker and wife, Patsy of Kentucky, Wayne Parker of Detroit; adopted daughter, Rebecca Cabler; grandchildren, Jessica Brunson and Christopher of Killeen, Tiffany Clay and husband, Jason of Paris; step children, Mary Whitworth, Lajuan Elrod, Thomas Elrod, Johnny R. Elrod, James H. Elrod and Rhonda G. Elrod; step grandchildren, Billy Crawford, Melissa Crowe, and Tracy Smith of Kentucky; great grandchildren, Arie Jesse, Sophia, Noah, Mila and Gage.

 Visitation is Tuesday January 15, 2019, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Clarksville Funeral Home.

 Graveside services are set for 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 16, 2019, at Lanes Chapel Cemetery with Rev. Karl Bush officiating.  Services are under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home.   

Pallbearers are Bobby George, Christopher Brunson, Jody Smith, Shane Roberts, Danny Miller and Mark Miller.

Honorary pallbearer is Vincent Smith.

In Lieu of flowers memorials made be made to the Lanes Chapel Cemetery. Elizabeth will be missed dearly by all who knew her.
