Obituary of Joann Yates

Joann Yates, age 81, of Clarksville, passed away Thursday, April 18, 2019, at Paris Regional Medical Center.

 

Joann was born March 14, 1938, in Clarksville to Joe and Ollie Bomer Nowell.  Joann lived a simple life, she loved her God and was a member of Bagwell Missionary Baptist Church.  She obsessed with being a good mother and grandmother.  She loved her kids and grandchildren and will be missed dearly by her friends and family.  Preceding her in death are her parents; her son, Johnny Lee Dotson; her brother, J.R. Steward and her 3 sisters, Bobbie Skaggs, Mafford Nowell and Louise Green.

 

The family will receive friends Saturday, April 20, 2019, from 6:00p.m. to 8:00p.m. at Clarksville Funeral Home.

 

Graveside services are set for 2:00p.m. Sunday, April 21, 2019, at Detroit Cemetery with Rev. Don Dink Benton officiating.  Burial is under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home.

 

Survivors include her 2 sons, Rickey Dotson of Bagwell and Steve Dotson of Annona; her children’s father, J.C. Dotson of Bagwell; 2 sisters, Linda Dowdle of Longview and Ora Dicken and husband, Jerry of Paris; her brother, Buddy Nowell of Fouke, Arkansas; 3 grandchildren, Rickey Lee Dotson, Shannan Evers and Heather Book and husband, Layne; 3 great grandchildren, Waylon Book, Shad Hardeman and Shani Dotson and her four legged companion Sampson.
