Obituary of John Veman Lawler
John Veman Lawler, age 78, of Riverside California, passed away Sunday, April 14, 2019, at Kindred Hospital in Ontario, California.
Veman was born August 29, 1940, to John Andrew and Cora Lawler of Annona and he spent his childhood there. Following graduation from Annona High School in 1958, he went to California to live with his older brother, Haskel’s family and attend college. It was there that he met his future wife, Karen. They married on September 3, 1960.
Veman was a Master Heavy Equipment Operator and Mechanic for the Metropolitan Water District. He retired in 2007.
Veman was a Past Master (1996) of the Riverside Masonic Lodge F&AM #635 and a Past Senior Grand Steward of the California Grand Lodge in 2008.
He and Karen had two sons, six grandchildren and four great grandsons, the youngest arrived only four days before Veman’s passing.
He wanted to move back to Texas and was in the process and preparation of returning home at the time of his passing. His journey will soon be completed.
The family will receive friends, Saturday, April 27, 2019, from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at the Clarksville Funeral Home.
Graveside services are set for 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 29, 2019, at Garland Cemetery in Annona, with Rev. Deanie Lambert officiating. Burial is under the direction of the Clarksville Funeral Home.
Survivors include his wife, Karen of Riverside, California; sons, Ronald Gene Lawler of Riverside, California and Robert Bruce Lawler and wife Carrie, of Nuevo, California; His sister, Elnora Bryant, of Greenville, Texas; and his Brother, Donald Gene Lawler and wife Naomi, of Clarksville, Texas; his grandchildren, Sarah Johnson and husband, Henry of San Diego, California, William Lawler of Portland, Oregon, Justin Lawler of San Diego, California, Katie Eyer and husband, Josh of San Luis Obispo, California, Kevin Zeise and wife, Amanda of Canyon Lake, California, Nicole Whatley and husband, Bobby of San Jacinto, California; and great grandsons, Greyson, Wyatt, Maddox Zeise and Ryker Eyer.
