Obituary of Choyce Earl Lum
Choyce Earl Lum “Bubby”, 73, of Marlow, Oklahoma, joined his heavenly father on June 7, 2019. He went peacefully while surrounded by his family and loved ones.
He was born in Clarksville, Texas to parents H.W. “Doc” Lum and Ethel ‘Rhea’ Lum on July 20, 1945. He was married to Diannah Faye Murphy on April 8, 1967.
Earl was a member of the Free Masons, a US Army Veteran who served his country in Vietnam, and a member of the Chisholm Trail Church of Christ. He was a farmer and had a ranch in Texas also a volunteer firefighter in Boxelder before moving to Oklahoma. He enjoyed going camping with friends and family, volunteering at the local Compassion Clinic, doing volunteer work with the free masons, and cheering on the Marlow Outlaw football team and his granddaughter in all their school activities.
He was predeceased by his parents H.W. “Doc” Lum and Ethel ‘Rhea’ Lum of Boxelder, TX and Brother Mack Lum of Annona, TX. He was survived by Wife Diannah Lum of Marlow, OK; Daughter Donna Whiteman and her Husband Stephen Whiteman of Marlow, OK; Grandson Chris Whiteman and his wife Sarah Whiteman of Marlow, OK; Granddaughters Rebecca Whiteman and Melinda Whiteman of Marlow, OK; Great Grandson Andrew Whiteman of Marlow, OK; Brother Harold Lum and his wife Norma Lum of Whichita Falls, TX; Sister Ann Upchurch and her husband Charles Upchurch of Boxelder, TX; Sister-in-Law Bobbie Lum of Annona, TX; and numerous other loved ones.
Earl lived a life of love and compassion for helping others. He was known for his hard work and bear hugs. He was loved by so many and will forever be held in our hearts.
Memorial Services will be held at 2:00pm on June 13, 2019 at Chisholm Trail Church of Christ in Duncan, OK.
Visitation will be held at 10:00am on June 15, 2019 at Salem Baptist Church in Boxelder, TX.
Burial will be held at 11:00am on June 15, 2019 at Salem Cemetery in Boxelder, TX.
In Lue of Flowers Earl asked that donations be made to the Salem Cemetery, Compassion Clinic, and/or the Lupus Foundation.
