I remember Mike's participation and encouragement as he was there during the founding of the Clinton County Crime Stoppers organization.
I also had the privilege of communicating with him and his staff during the early years of the Iowa Chapter of the International Association of Arson Investigators.
I also recall meeting members of Mike's family back home in Iowa. I am truly sorry for your loss.

My father David E Bishop Jr worked under Mike as a deputy sheriff. We also had shooting matches at Bobby Klaes and Jim Tralau range I still have the newspaper clippings of these matches. I am so sorry for your loss. My father too has passed away. Mike was an excellent teacher of firearms.

It was my good fortune to serve with Michael in the Fort Worth Police Department. We answered dozens of 911 calls together and he always had the same caring attitude toward the people we served. Mike became a best friend off duty, as well as my children's adopted uncle. It was a happy day whenever Uncle Mike was visiting. There is so much more to be said, but among those who knew him you know that very well.

Mike was many good things. 1 of those things was a very good man.
I always treasured his trips to Iowa when I'd get his call inviting me to lunch. We had wonderful discussions and good times.
Miss you, Mike.
God bless.
Heartfelt condolences to all whose lives he touched.

Mike was very special to us. Whenever Al was able to come to Church, Mike would bring him a cup of coffee and chat with him.
Every year in October, he would work the Pumpkin Patch with us. We called him farmer Mike for the longest because he acted out the farmer part in the story.
His loss is leaving a very empty place in our hearts and church.
We look forward to walking with him and Jesus someday in Heavan. I can just see him chatting with Jesus.

He was a dear friend to me and several others that worked at the City Credit Union in Fort Worth. Anytime in came in he would visit with us and give us a big hug . Mike was one of a kind and very Special to me. He always talked about his Annette and Lander. He truly loved his family . I am so glad that I had one last chance to talk to him a few months ago after I retired . RIP Mike❤️

OMG! I am so sorry, I just saw this. Don and Donna this is not how life is supposed to be. We are not supposed to bury our children. I always say this must be one of the worst things that can ever happen to parents. I can't even imagine your devestation. There is nothing I can even think to say to help you through this. My prayers and thoughts are with all of you at this time. Mike was such a gentle soul. Karen Hauserman
