Obituary of Ruth Helen McGill

Ruth Helen Brackett McGill, age 86, of Clarksville, passed away Monday, December 20, 2010, at ETMC Clarksville. Ruth was born in Clarksville on July 26, 1924 to George Leslie and Hattie Harvey Brackett. She was retired from Campbell Soup and was a member of the First Baptist Church. Ruth was very active in her community and loved playing the organ and piano at church. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, John Ed McGill and a one son, Richard Glenn “Dick” McGill. Survivors include one son, Bill McGill and wife Mary Jo of Clarksville; three daughters, Judy Parks and husband Ronald of Paris, Mary Beth McGill of Clarksville and Sandy McClour and husband Barry of Clarksville; one sister, Ruby McCasland of Clarksville; one brother, Ronnie Brackett of Phoenix, Arizona; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Funeral services are set for 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 22, 2010, in Lindeman Chapel of Clarksville Funeral Home with Rev. James Brown and Jack Holt officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home. Pallbearers are Paul Allen, Ruben Putteet, Steve Champe, Wayne Hines, Chuck Brannan and Bruce Brannan. Honorary Pallbearers are Bill Woods, Donald Parks, Cory Parks, Chris Parks, Mark McGill, Matt McGill, Drew McGill and Johnathan Baird. The family will receive friends Tuesday night from 6 to 8 at Clarksville Funeral Home.
