I sure hate to hear of Mr. Bain's passing. I always enjoyed seeing him on Sundays in church when I was growing up. He was always so kind and would let me go fishing on their place as it wasn't far from our home. One time, he let me bring some friends out there and he called me when I got home to get onto me because he saw me messing with a snake! Haha! I'll never forget him doing that! I'll be keeping the family in my prayers, especially Ms. Dorothy.

Ms. Dorothy & the Bain Family,
I am so sorry for your loss!
Coach Bain was a mentor, teacher & coach to me from 8th grade at Franklin Jr. High all the way through my Senior year at Hillcrest. One of the greatest DC's in Texas High School Football. While at Hillcrest (Fall of '78), we ran his perfected 4-3 Defense and were ranked as one of the top defenses in the state. He loved the game, his players and we did feel like family.
I remember Coach Bain's passion for football, passion for his players but his real passion was fishing. Many Woods & Waters weekends were spent with him and our coaches camping out trying to find the elusive big mouth bass. Chris Maguire and I found the fish that weekend in East Texas on the other side of that fence, back in the woods where we shouldn't have been. Turns out it was a breeding lake for Florida Bass that was game managed by the State of Texas fish & wildlife. Coach Bain was threatening to fail all us in athletics if we didn't tell him where we caught all those fish! And man, we caught a ton of fish! Mr. Bookhout filet'd everyone of them for the greatest fish fry I've ever attended!! And Coach Bain couldn't have been happier!! That was 1976 and I hear through my sources, Coach Bain kept fishing those private lakes over the next 20 something years. Don't know how he never got caught!
I am sorry that I missed the memorial as I just got the news this morning. We spoke on the phone back in late May/early June this year when I learned his health was declining.
You all are in my prayers. He will be missed.
In His Mighty Grip,
Matt Marshall

Thank you for showing me and teaching me so many valuable things Grandad.
I have the greatest memories with you and I will always cherish each and every one.
I will always think of you when I hear “Horse bites an apple” or when I see Blue Bell ice cream, good looking women- I mean, cars...hee haw, Crystal Gayle, a good book, anything sweet, a big fish and most of all- a hard workin man- I will instantly be reminded of you. Thank you for always supporting me in my endeavors and for all the laughs.
Until I see you again- Rest In Peace and watch over us. I love you so much.
