Obituary of Eleanor Shields Proctor

Eleanor Shields Proctor, 87, of Tyler went to be with our Lord and Savior on May 2, 2011. She will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her. Graveside services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 4, 2011, in Fairview Cemetery, with Rev. James Brown officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home. Mrs. Proctor was born in Palestine on May 25, 1923 to Emmett L. Shields and Lou Ann Dunn. When retired she had worked for 35 years in the insurance business. She retired from St. Paul Insurance Company in Tyler after ten and a half years. During this time she was very active in the Tyler Community Concert Association. She was a member of Marvin Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years Edwin D. Proctor and her brother Emmett L. Shields. She is survived by nephews, cousins and friends.
