Obituary of Carlton Earl Kennedy
Carlton Earl Kennedy, age 73, of New Boston, formerly of Avery, passed away Friday, July 1, 2011 at Christus St. Michael’s Hospital, Texarkana.
Mr. Kennedy was born in Avery to Onis and Ruth Holder Kennedy. He was an avid fisherman and had a unique craft of building willow furniture. He was of the Baptist faith. People will remember Carlton and his belovded dog, “Pudgy”, they participated in the New Boston Parade for many years. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a son, Joe Edward West.
Survivors include two sons, Tony L. West and wife Maggie of Winnsboro and Ronnie Kennedy; two daughters, Rhonda Oliver and Stephenie "Shawn" Putman both of Hughes Springs; six sisters, Geneva Spradlin of New Boston, Pauline Potter of Avery, Helen Rogers of Nash, Brenda Howland of Avery, Joan Audas of Avery and Paula Smart of Avery; one brother, James Kennedy of Avery; eighteen grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren.
Funeral services are 2:00 p.m. Thursday, July 7, 2011, in Lindeman Chapel with Michael Wesley Walters officiating. Services are under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home.
Honorary Pallbearers are Roger Dale Stinson, Tim Oliver and Tony West.
