I am Marty's niece who was born on her 10th birthday to her older brother, Joseph and his wife, Donna. As a little girl I always looked as Marty as so beautiful and sweet when we saw one another (we lived in Minnesota and she in Texas so it ended up being once a year). Marty came through a lot of challenges in her life as my dad and her other brother, Bobby, were older and out on their own when Marty was a teenager living at home with my grandmother who was very sick at that time. We lost touch over the years but my dad never stopped looking for his sister and was devastated to get a call that she had passed away this past weekend. I hope that my cousins and I can reconnect and get to know each other even though we live miles apart. I am sad that I didn't get to know Marty as an adult myself as I know we would have had a lot to share (love of animals for one!) other than our birthdays! Debi Eckert
