Obituary of Alton Edward Kennedy

Alton Edward Kennedy, age 83, of Annona, passed away, Thursday, February 11, 2010, at his residence. Mr. Kennedy was born December 17, 1926 in Avery to Perry and Gertrude Roden Kennedy. He was a member of the Boxelder United Methodist Chruch. He joined the U.S. Navy in 1944 and served in WWII and the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He retired Master Chief after serving for 31 years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joanne Stevens Kennedy; brothers, Onis, Jack, Dock, Shorty, Cecil and Chester. He is survived by his sister, Eunice Collier of New Boston; sister-in-law, Christine Kennedy of New Boston; and a brother, Lester Kennedy of Portsmouth, VA. Memorial Services are 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 13, 2010, at the Boxelder United Methodist Church with Rev. Dink Benton officiating. Services are under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home. Honorary Pallbearers are Hays Allston, Jim Hendrix, A.B. Baird, Eugene Simmons, Morris Collins, Jack Kennedy and Lou Collier.
