Obituary of Mattie M. Queen

Mattie M. Queen age 73 of Avery passed away Wednesday, July 08, 2009 at Sunny Acres Nursing Home in DeKalb. Mrs. Queen was born February 10, 1936 in Avery to Matt and Maggie Ely Carson. She was retired from the Sunny Acres Nursing Home and was of the Methodist faith. 5 brothers and 2 sisters preceded her in death. Survivors include 2 daughters, Kay Lamon and husband Kenny of Avery and Margaret Queen and husband Joe of DeKalb; grandchildren, Chastity, Kelly, Melanie, Kristie, Angie, Amanda, Jason and Tiffani; numerous great grandchildren; nephew, Dennis Crum and wife Vickie of Avery. Graveside services are 11:30 a.m. Friday, July 10, 2009 at the Pine Springs Cemetery with Pastor Billy Hooker officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Springs Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Association.
