Obituary of Ben B. Storey
Ben Bryant Storey, age 88, of the English Community, passed away Thursday, January 12, 2012, at Paris Oaks Assisted Living. Mr. Storey was retired from the Red River Amry Depot and later retired after serving Red River County as Pct. 3 Commissioner for 13 years.
Mr. Storey was born January 13, 1923, in Clarksville to Joe and Bennie Bryant Storey. He graduated from Annona High School and attended Dallas Business College before enlisting in the U.S. Army during WWII and earned the Purple Heart. He was a Mason for 48 years and was a member of the Williams Chapel United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Doris Troxell Storey; 1 daughter, Nancy Hendley and husband Robert of the English Community; 2 sons, Bryon Storey and wife Janet of Moore Haven, Florida and Ben Ray Storey and wife Paula of the English Community; 2 brothers, Bob Storey of the English Community and Wayne Storey of New Boston; and 1 sister, Wanda Varley of Clarksville; 1 son-in-law, Ronnie Harp of the English Community; 10 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren, with number 14 on the way.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 1 daughter, Donna Harp; and 2 brothers, Quillard Storey and Joe Storey, Jr.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 14, 2012, in the Lindeman Chapel of Clarksville Funeral Home with Brother Gary McCain and Brother Carl Sterling officiating. Masonic rites will follow in Lindeman Chapel. Burial will follow in English Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are John Gray, Kevin Gray, Brian Harp, John Moore, Devin McEwin, Chris Vaughan and Trey Puckett.
Honorary Pallbearers are Elmer Caton, Bill Minter, Jonathan Grant, David Phelps, Jr., Haldeen Peacock and Harvey Carter.
