Obituary of Valer Mae Jones

Valer Mae Jones, age 88, of Texarkana, Texas and formerly of Wichita Falls, Texas, passed away, Friday, March 09, 2012, at Cornerstone Retirement Community in Texarkana. Mrs. Jones was born in Red River County on March 29, 1923, to Pert and Ada Brem Smith. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Wichita Falls and a lifelong member of the Order of the Easter Star. She was very active in Missionary Work through her church. She was preceded in death by 4 brothers and 1 sister. Funeral services are set for 1:30 p.m. Sunday, March 11, 2012, in Lindeman Chapel of Clarksville Funeral Home with Rev. James Brown officiating. Burial will follow in English Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home. The family will receive friends an hour before service time at the funeral home. Survivors include a son, Gary Jones and wife, Stephanie of Carrollton; a daughter, Brenda Davis and husband, Roger of Texarkana, Texas; 3 grandchildren, Rick Davis and wife, Stacey of Texarkana, Jason Jones of Sulphur Springs and Brian Johnson and wife, Amanda of Pheonix, Airizona.
