Obituary of Charles Lee Ward
Charlie Ward, age 63, of Clarksville, passed away Friday, April 6, 2012, at Paris Regional Medical Center.
Charlie was born May 29, 1948, in Clarksville to Darrell “Budge” and Dorothy Schoffner Ward. He retired from the Red River Army Depot and later worked for Maverick Manufacturing, Dowco Trucking and Don Lawler. He loved the outdoors, especially fishing and watching his grandchildren play sports. He was a member of Friendship Lodge # 16, AF&AM.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a nephew, Mike Strickland.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Monday, April 9, 2012, in Lindeman Chapel of Clarksville Funeral Home with Rev. Tracy Williams and Rev. James Brown officiating. Masonic services will be held following the funeral service in the chapel. Burial will follow in Whiteman’s Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are James Bills, Doyle Beers, Bryan Ward, Casey Ward, Mike Troxell and Don Lawler. Honorary Pallbearers are his fellow workers at the River Army Depot.
Visitation will be Sunday afternoon from 4 to 6 at Clarksville Funeral Home.
Survivors include his wife, Calla Ward of Clarksville; a daughter, Tammy Jaynes and husband Dinger of Detroit; 2 sisters, Barbara Henderson of Clarksville and Carolyn Mooney of Wylie; 2 brothers, Buford Ward of New Boston and Stanley Ward of Clarksville; 2 grandchildren, Kolton Jaynes and Callie Jaynes; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
