Obituary of Wayne Meredith

Wayne Meredith, age 68, of DeKalb, passed away, Tuesday, July 03, 2012, at Sunny Acres Nursing Home in DeKalb. Wayne was born January 23, 1944, in Clarksville to Nolan and Bobbie Monkhouse Meredith. He was of the Baptist faith. Wayne was graduated from East Texas State University in Commerce with a Bachelor’s degree. He retired after 33 years as an agricultural teacher in several area schools, including DeKalb and New Boston Independent School Districts. Wayne’s pastimes were raising horses and roping with his family and friends. Funeral services are set for 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 6, 2012, in Lindeman Chapel of Clarksville Funeral Home with Rev. Tracy Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home. Pallbearers are Tommy Neal, Jerry Hostetler, Ernest Paul Pewitt, Wesley Mahone, George Kennedy, Mike Colbert, Martin McGee, Colby Brown. The family will receive friends Thursday night from 6 to 8 at Clarksville Funeral Home. Survivors include his son, Tad Meredith and wife Aimee of DeKalb; 2 grandchildren, Michelle Meredith and Danny Meredith; 1 sister, Sharon House; 1 niece, Jona Posey; and 1 nephew, Shane Compton.
