Obituary of Kent Robert Gooding
Kent was born February 9, 1979, in Paris to Robert Edward and Janice Barton Gooding. He was an extraordinarily talented musician. Over the years Kent became an accomplished performer, singer and songwriter. He has performed all over the United States with a number of bands and was highly regarded in the East Texas area. Kent’s band was known as “Post Oak Savannah”. Kent graduated from Clarksville High School in 1997 and was a disciple and follower of Jesus Christ.
Funeral services are set for 4:00 p.m., Friday, July 6, 2012, at the First Baptist Church in Clarksville with Rev. Mark Gossett officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m., Friday at the church.
Pallbearers are Alan Gooding, Will Lawrence, Clay Lawrence, Brandyn McNeal, Russell Wilson, Tony Farmer, Gary Cheatwood and Chris Luther.
Honorary Pallbearers are Gary Porterfield and Boyd Hurt.
Survivors include his wife, Jamie Elaine Gooding of Gilmer; his daughter, India Elaine Gooding of Gilmer; his parents, Bobby and Janice Gooding of Clarksville; his brother, Alan Gooding and wife, Allison of Tucson, Arizona; his grandmother, Martha Grace Gooding of Texarkana; and his large extended family and friends.
