Obituary of Kenneth Blain Bishop
Kenneth Blain Bishop, age 72, of Clarksville, passed away Saturday, July 21, 2012, at ETMC Tyler.
Ken was born January 27, 1940, in New Boston to Harvie Thomas and Lula Miller Bishop. He was owner of Maverick Manufacturing Company in Clarksville. He served Ward 4 as Clarksville City Councilman for 28 years, served on the Water Control Improvement District, was a rancher and avid horse racing fan. Most of all, Ken loved his family and guided his sons to professions he loved himself: accounting, sports and ranching. He married Winifred Stevens Bishop on June 1, 1958, at the Church of Christ in Clarksville.
He was preceded in death by his father; a brother, Leslie Bishop; and 2 sisters, Juanell Pool and Letha Hawks.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 24, 2012, in Lindeman Chapel of Clarksville Funeral Home with Rev. James Brown and the Honorable Mayor Ann Rushing officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends Monday night from 6 to 8 at Clarksville Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are Doug Smith, Derek Jones, John Gray, Craig Moody, Rick Bachman and Alan Hale.

Survivors include his wife Wini of the home; 3 sons, Steve Bishop and wife Chance of Clarksville, Victor Bishop and wife Angie of Clarksville and Justin Bishop and wife Angie (Peach); his mother, Lula Bishop of Clarksville; his grandchildren, Blakely Bishop, Colby Bishop, Jessica Taylor, Allison Bishop, Blaine Bishop, Brooklyn Bishop and Jaden Bishop; 3 sisters, Johnnie Tyler of Longview, Juanita Beatty of Lamesa and Marye Young of Longview; and 1 brother, James (Fuzz) Bishop of Clarksville.
