Obituary of Dorothy Cremeen Townes
Mrs. Townes was born January 17, 1925, in Red River County to J.D. and Mattie Colman Cremeen. She retired from Red-Kap Industries in Clarksville and was a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed sewing and cooking for her family. She was also a member of College Ave. Baptist Church. Her husband, John E. Townes; and a son, Gary Townes, Sr., preceded her in death.
Funeral services are set for 2:00 p.m., Thursday, January 3, 2013, in Lindeman Chapel of Clarksville Funeral Home with Rev. Don Shovan and Rev. James Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Lanes Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home. The family will receive friends an hour before service time at the funeral home.
Pallbearers are Blake Joplin, Michael Townes, Charlie Townes, Cole Phelps, Johnny McGuire, Gary Townes, Jr., James R. Giddens and Dalton Joplin.
Honorary Pallbearers are Rick Jordan, Dean Hall, Bobby Hevron and Albert Hall.
Survivors include 1 son, Gerald Townes and wife Elaine of Clarksville; 3 daughters, Linda Sue Giddens and husband Jim of Paris, Barbara Gibbs of Forney and Annette Brown and husband Clifton of Blossom; 1 brother, Billy Cremeen of Hutchinson; 13 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and 3 great-great granchildren.
