Obituary of Maggie B. Northcutt
Maggie Baird Northcutt, age 96, of Avery, passed away, Wednesday, January 9, 2013, at Sunny Acres Nursing Home in DeKalb.
Mrs. Northcutt was born in Avery on December 19, 1916, to Authur and Lizzie Phillips Baird. She was very active member of the Avery Assembly of God Church, which she loved very much. She was preceded in death by her husband, Grover Northcutt in 1979; and a son, Bobby Northcutt.
Survivors include 3 sons, Enos Northcutt of Avery, E.G. Northcutt of Avery and Jim Northcutt and wife Billie of Bogata; 4 daughters, Lela Mae Wells of Clarksville, Robbie Rhea and husband H.B. of Annona, Louise Simmons of Avery and Nell Bishop and husband James of Clarksville; 4 sisters, Ruby Kimble of Dekalb, Alver Sumake of Avery, Mary Combs of Mineola and Frances Murphy of Louisiana; 1 brother, L.J. Baird of Henderson; 16 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; and several great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services are set for 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 12, 2013, in Lindeman Chapel of Clarksville Funeral Home with Rev. Wilson Weed and Rev. Dwight Drake officiating. Burial will follow in Avery Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are Greg Northcutt, Dustin Northcutt, Chris Kennedy, Josh Northcutt, Ethan Edwards and DeWayne Northcutt.
The family will receive friends Friday afternoon from 4 to 6 at Clarksville Funeral Home.
