Obituary of Louetta Lumpkin Haley

Louetta Lumpkin Haley, age 88, of Grand Prairie, formerly of Avery, passed away, Friday, January 18, 2013, at Crestview Court Nursing Home in Grand Prairie. Mrs. Haley’s greatest joy was to be a good mother and wife. She had a strong sense of right and wrong and conveyed this on to her children and they knew they were held accountable for their actions in the eyes of God. Her philosophy was to let go and let God. Mrs. Haley was born January 2, 1925, in Avery, to Thomas Tyson and Sallie Ann McKinney Lumpkin. She was a member of the Avery United Methodist Church. Survivors include her husband, Garvis Alton Haley of Grand Prairie, they were marred on July 22, 1944, in Corpus Christi, Texas; her son, Michael Alton Haley and wife Angie; her daughters, Sandra Haley Bufkin and husband Ray of Grand Prairie and Mary Ann Haley Yeager; her brother, W.G. “Bill” Lumpkin and wife, Gavy; 5 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild. Graveside services are set for 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 22, 2013, at Avery Cemetery. Burial will follow under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home. Pallbearers are Rob Ruba, Chris Hawkins, Brad Haley and Ray Bufkin. The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. until 12:15 p.m., at Clarksville Funeral Home.
