Obituary of Charles Dolph King

Charles Dolph King, age 85, of Detroit, passed away, Tuesday, January 22, 2013, in Arlington, Texas. Graveside services are scheduled for 12:30 p.m., Saturday, January 26, 2013 at Detroit Cemetery with Rev. James Brown officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m until 12:00 noon, Saturday at the funeral home. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ruth King on March 23, 1993; his daughter, Marolyn Will; and his brother, Wayne King. Serving as Pallbeaers will be his 6 grandsons. Mr. King was born August 9, 1927, in Ringold to Enoch Diamond and Eddythe Bradley King. He served in the U.S. Army and was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include 2 daughters, Wanda Houghton and husband Al of Arlington and Carolyn Vance and husband Les of North Richland Hills; 8 grandchildren, Mitch McClain, Jason McClain, Matt McAmis, Michael McAmis, Shane DuBois, Casey DuBois, Serre Plumlee and Julie Butticarlo; 12 great grandchildren; 4 sisters, Jean Cutaia of Arlington, Betty Miller of Lindale, Bobbie Curry of Van Buren, Arkansas and Carol McClain of Sapulpa, Oklahoma; and his special friend and companion, Freeda Adams of Detroit.
