Obituary of Mark Perkins

John Mark Perkins, age 53, of Bagwell, passed away, Monday, March 25, 2013, at ETMC Tyler. Mark was born March 2, 1960, in Clarksville to Thomas and Joan Young Perkins. Mark graduated from Clarksville High School in 1978 and is a 1981 graduate of the East Texas Police Academy. He worked for the Clarksville Police Department from 1980 until 1986 and was then employed by the Red River County Sheriff Department as a patrol deputy. Mark held a Master Peace Officer License and was hired as an investigator with the Red River County Attorney’s office on January 1, 2001 until present. Funeral services are set for 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 29, 2013, in Lindeman Chapel of Clarksville Funeral Home with Steve Marx and Pressley “Buddy” Eddins officiating. Burial will follow at Bluff Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Thursday night from 6 to 8 at the funeral home. Pallbearers are Jason Meredith, Rick Smith, Steve Carey, Jerry Conway, Tim Shimpock, David Barnett, Kevin Gray and Chris Phelps. Honorary Pallbearers are Ricky Roberts, Dickie Ewing, Jim Trammell, Dwayne Jeffery and the Staff of the Red River County’s Attorney’s office. Survivors include his mother, Joan Perkins of Bagwell; his sister, Lesia Perkins of Bagwell; special friends, Katie and Dee Barnett; and several cousins. Memorials may be made in Mark’s name to the Bagwell Community Center; 5032 FM 2573, Bagwell, Texas, 75412.
