.Dorothy Nell Jackson Poag Terry of Clarksville, passed away, Thursday, May 2, 2013, surrounded by her family at Heritage House Nursing Center in Paris. She was 85. She was the youngest of ten children and was preceded in death by brothers, Cossin, David, H.D. and Dr. James Jackson and sisters, Claudia Jackson, Zella Martin, Ruth Owen, Pauline Flowers and Hazel Hooser. On December 21, 1947, she married Billy Bob Poag. He preceded her in death in 1966. Two daughters were born to this union: Joan Mabry and Linda Adams. On November 6, 1970, she married Martin Joe Terry of Clarksville. He preceded her in death on October 5, 1987. She had two granddaughters who gave her the biggest joy of her life with the birth of 3 great-grandchildren. She loved spending time with them, going to their activities and playing games. She was known for baking pies and delivering them to friends throughout Clarksville. Survivors include her daughters, Joan Mabry and husband Bill of Paris, Linda Adams and husband Glenn of Mt. Pleasant, granddaughters, Keitha Bevins of Mt. Pleasant, Mandy Freeman and husband Blair of Cooper, great-grandchildren, Landon Bevins and Garrett and Kerstin Freeman. Funeral services are 2:00 p.m., Sunday, May 5, 2013, in Lindeman Chapel of Clarksville Funeral Home with Rev. James Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home. Pallbearers are great-grandsons, Landon Bevins and Garrett Freeman and friends Teddy Smothermon, Roy Maye, Les Tinsley, Don Pace, Don Eudy and Randy Freeman. Honorary Pallbearers are the men of the Aikin Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Sammy Humphrey, Gary Lynch, Wayne Tomblin, Larry Stratton, Frog Wright, Tom Ed Slaton, Byron “Tink” Pace, Jimmy Giddens, Mike Doyal and James Jones. Memorials may be made to the Aikin Grove Missionary Baptist Church Building Fund, at 1721, Horseshoe Dr., Clarksville, Texas 75426 or the Red River County Library at 315 N. Walnut St., Clarksville, Texas 75426.
