Obituary of Lois Hawley Gohmert
Lois Hawley Gohmert age 74 of Houston, and formerly of the Blanton Creek Community, went to be with her Lord on Sunday April 26, 2009, in Methodist Willowbrook Hospital in Houston, surrounded by her loving family.
Lois was born at Blanton Creek, north of Bagwell, to the late Henry W. and Rosa Bell Castleman Hawley May 24, 1934, a pioneer family of Blanton Creek. She finished high School at Dimple in 1953 and moved to Houston where she met and married the father of her children, the late Thomas Gohmert. She also was preceded in death by three brothers; Henry “Bo” Hawley, Grady Hawley and James D. Hawley.
She is survived by 3 daughters, Susan Coats and husband Ed of Cypress, Sharon Green and husband Phillip of Spring, Sandy Tyrrell and husband Kevin of Houston; son, Thomas Gohmert of Houston; 7 grandchildren, Matthew, Holly, Kacie, Hannah, Kymber, Kassidy and Kaitlyn; 1 great granddaughter, Kali. Also surviving is a brother, John Hawley and wife Mary of Bagwell; 4 sisters, Chris Anderson of Houston, Margaret Edwards and husband Luther of Lewisville, Arkansas, Molly Ford of Addielou and Lena White of Clarksville; two sisters in law, Shirley Hawley and Clara Fay Hulsey.
Graveside services will be at the Blanton Creek Cemetery on Sunday, May 3, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Ron Kellam officiating. Services are under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home.
