Obituary of Annette Lovett

Annette Lovett, age 77, of Clarksville, Texas, passed away Tuesday, June 25, 2013, at her residence. Mrs. Lovett was born in San Antonio, and raised in Beaumont, Texas to Maurice Victor and Reba Knox Webb. She attended Lamar University in Beaumont, and graduated with a teaching certificate from the University of Texas in Austin. She met the love of her life, Jim Lovett, during college and they married. They settled in Clarksville, where they raised their four children. She was a homemaker, and worked many years as a social worker and teacher. Annette served actively in the community. She was a member of the McKenzie Memorial United Methodist Church, a founding member of the Elderberry Center Board, treasurer of The Red River County Historical Society, a library volunteer, member of school booster clubs, and president of the Parent Teacher Association. She was also involved in forming the Child Welfare Board, which served abused and neglected children. She played violin for many years, and enjoyed classical music. She liked traveling, history, reading, crossword puzzles, family gatherings, and dinner parties. Mrs. Lovett is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, The Honorable Judge Jim Dick Lovett, one sister, Peggy Friedel and one brother, Victor Webb. Funeral services are set for 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 29, 2013, in Lindeman Chapel of Clarksville Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Colgrove officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home. Pallbearers are Rodney Anderson, Tom Tostanoski, Jeff Neill, Wayne Whiteman, Bruce Segleski, Richard Wren and Tony Hale. Survivors include her son, Colin Lovett and wife Kathy of Ft. Worth; 3 daughters, Stephanie Anderson and husband Rodney of New Braunfels, Vicky Weller and husband Michael of Austin and Amanda Lovett of Clarksville; 9 grandchildren, Amy Tostanoski and husband Tom of San Marcos, Lindsey Neill and husband Jeff of Hutto, Christy Pitts of Ft. Worth, Kevin Pitts of Oklahoma City, Catherine Presley and husband Michael of Paris, Christine and Sarah Anderson both of New Braunfels, Jonathan Weller and wife Kathleen of Austin and Julie Weller of Austin; 4 great grandchildren, Clayton, Micah, Eva and Elliott.
