Obituary of Robert Lunsford Edwards

Robert L “Lunsford” Edwards, age 89, of the Woodland Community, passed away peacefully July 25, 2013, while surrounded by loved ones. Lunsford was born March 25, 1924, to Trent and Audrey Ann Lunsford Edwards. He married Mary Lavurn Coble on October 15, 1946. Lunsford or “Pap paw” as the family called him, was a longtime Dairy Man and Farmer while working along side his sons. He loved gardening, playing 42 and he was an avid Texas Rangers fan. “Pap paw” loved his children and grandchildren, he always looked forward to and enjoyed family get togethers. Lunsford is survived by his wife of 67 years, Mary Lavurn Edwards and 5 sons; Johnny Edwards and wife Beverly of Detroit, Orville O’quinn Edwards and wife Penny of Paris, Roger Edwards and wife Ginger of the Woodland Community, Lyle Edwards and wife Dianna of Paris and Kelvin Edwards and wife Tammy of Frogville, Oklahoma. “Pap paw’ was blessed with numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was looking forward to meeting his first great-great grandchild in December. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Orville Edwards; a sister Janell Watkins; a son, Robert Trent Edwards; a grandson, Roger Dale Edwards, Jr.; and a great-grandson, Josh Blake Hamm. Funeral services are set for 10:00 a.m., Monday, July 29, 2013, at the Leesville Baptist Church with Rev. Carl Sterling and Rev. Jimmy Ellis officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Sunday night from 5:30 to 7:00 at Clarksville Funeral Home. Pallbearers are Tony Whittle, Boyd Harmening, Eric Clark, Jim Gatlin, Daniel Hamm and Cody Flanery. Honorary Pallbearers are Calvin Gibson, Joey Edwards and Tyler Edwards, Caleb Hamm and Jerren Ellis.
