Obituary of Bondie Peek

Bondie Peek, age 102, of Boxelder, passed away Monday, September 2, 2013, at Clarksville Nursing Center. Mrs. Peek was born July 11, 1911, in Red River County to George W. and Lula Watson Young. She was known for her canning abilities and good cooking and loved to cook for her family. Mrs. Peek was of the Methodist faith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dick Peek; 1 granddaughter; 3 brothers; and 1 sister. Funeral services are set for 2:00 p.m., Thursday, September 5, 2013, in Lindeman Chapel of Clarksville Funeral Home with Rev. Don C. Benton officiating. Burial will follow in Gilliam Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Wednesday night from 5 to 7 at the funeral home. Serving as Pallbearers are Robby Bickley, Larry Cornell, Ross Schwab, Dennis Bates, Glenn Dow Floyd and Chance Schwab. Honorary Pallbearer; Earl Bratton Survivors include 1 son, Billy Joe Peek and wife Betty Jane of Tyler; 1 daughter, Jane Bratton and husband Billy of Boxelder; 2 grandchildren, Betty Bickley and husband Gene of Mansfield and Billy Bratton and wife Connie of Colleyville; 4 great-grandchildren, Joann, Jolene, Jennifer and Becky; and 8 great-great grandchildren.
