Obituary of Juanita Hastings

Juanita Hastings, age 88, of Bagwell, passed away Sunday, September 9, 2013, at her daughters residence in Detroit. Mrs. Hastings was born May 12, 1925, in Red River County to Walter and Myrtle Hastings Lee. She and her sister Mable Henry owned the Farmers Market in Clarksville for several years. Traveling with her daughter, Phillis was one of her favorite past times along with gardening. She loved her family and was a friend to all. Mrs. Hastings was a longtime member of the Bagwell Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Coy Hastings; a grandson, Glenn Townes; sisters, Delura Hutson, Mabel Henry; and brothers, Troy and Doyle Lee. Funeral services are set for 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, September 11, 2013, in Lindeman Chapel of Clarksville Funeral Home with Rev. Don Shovan officiating. Burial will follow in Blanton Creek Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Tuesday night from 6 to 8 at Clarksville Funeral Home. Pallbearers are James Hastings, Tony Barletti, Clint Hastings, Cody Hastings, Alex Hastings, Joseph Glass, Dalton Buchhorn and Colton Hastings. Survivors include her daughter, Phillis Townes and husband, Larry of Detroit; her sons, James Hastings and wife Jan of Bodcaw, Arkansas, Ray Hastings and wife Marion of Detroit and Bobby Hastings and wife Kim of Electra; 9 loving grandchildren, Cody Hastings, Sharla Fricks, Darla Bridges, Tammy Hastings, Clint Hastings, Brandon Atwell, Heather Hastings, Alex Hastings and Colton Hastings; and several great-grandchildren.
