Obituary of Juanita Sullivan

Vara Juanita Keeling Sullivan, age 90, of Avery, passed away Monday, September 16, 2013, at Christus St. Michael’s Hospital surrounded by family and friends. Mrs. Sullivan was a homemaker. She was born January 22, 1923, in the community of Savannah in Red River County to Homer Lester and Essie Maurine Holloway Keeling. She was preceded in death by her husband, John R. Sullivan and her son-in-law, Jack Weldon Baird. Survivors include her three daughters, Vara Baird of Avery, Texas, Johnanna Bristow and husband Fred of Texarkana, Texas and Melissa Brooks and husband Michael of Bella Vista, Arkansas; eight grandchildren, Sabrina Whiteside, John Bailey, Varanna Day, Michael Baird, John Paul Russell, Jordan Russell, Makayla Brooks and Skyler Brooks; 8 great-grandchildren, Brandon Edwards, Channing Day, Bailey Day, Jack Baird, Caroline Baird, Thomas Baird, Kylie Russell and Kennedy Bailey; two sisters, Jimmie Keeling of Sheveport, Louisiana and Essie Hall of Annona. Graveside services are set for 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 18, 2013, at Savannah Cemetery with Rev. Jack Cloyd officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Tuesday night from 6 to 8 p.m., at Clarksville Funeral Home. The family wishes that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the Savannah Cemetery in care of Anthony Tucker, 2935 FM 911 N., Avery, Texas 75554.
