Obituary of Mary Frances McPeak

Mary Frances Phelps McPeak, age 82, of Avery, passed away Wednesday, October 16, 2013, at ETMC, Clarksville. She was born March 27, 1931, in Bowie County to Claude and Eva Dorer Phelps. Mrs. McPeak loved her family, fishing and always looked forward to going to her “place”. She married Odeas McPeak July 8, 1952 and was of the Assembly of God faith. Her husband, Odeas McPeak; a son, William McPeak; a daughter, Frances Phelps; a sister, Louise Hodgson; and a brother, W.A. “Bunkm” Phelps, all preceded her in death. Funeral services are set for 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 19, 2013, in Lindeman Chapel of Clarksville Funeral Home with Rev. Wilson Weed officiating. Burial will follow in Jackson Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8, Friday night at the funeral home. Serving as Pallbearers are Paul Strunc, Steven Wallace, Dave Seling, Mark Megason, Bobby Wages and Jesse Hulen. Honorary Pallbearer is Bobby George. Survivors include one son, Jearl McPeak and wife Audrey of Avery; two daughters, Dianne Haddock and husband Joe of Avery and Judy Phelps and husband Frankie of Avery; three sisters, Faye Scott of Avery, Jean Goodwin of Clarksville and Juanita Blankenship of Bella Vista; nine grandchildren, Chris Phelps, Rodney Phelps, Jessica Strunc, Jennifer Hulen, William McPeak, Jr., Mary Beth McPeak, Harley McPeak, Rhonda McPeak and Latishia Hurtado; 13 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews; and her little dog, George.
