Obituary of Martha Faye Peek

Martha Faye Mitchell Jeans-Peek Martha Faye Peek, age 91, of Paris, passed to a better life Saturday, November 30, 2013, at Paris Regional Medical Center. Martha was born April 15, 1922, in Greenwood to Harrison David and Rosie Edith Moore Mitchell. She married Onnie Benton Jeans in August of 1930. Together they had six children. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Onnie Benton Jeans, 3 children, JoAnn Curry, Bobby Jeans and Carroll Ray Jeans, 5 brothers and 1 sister. In 1971 Martha married Harold Peek. They lived a wonderful happy life until his passing in 2003. Martha is survived by 2 daughters, Sheila Hackler and husband Junior of Paris and Sharon Marshall and husband Jimmy of Allen; 1 son, Joel Jeans of Boxelder; 2 sisters, Hazel Phillips and Ann Roberts; a special granddaughter Cindy Harris and caregiver; her grandchildren and great grandchildren, Kim McLaughlin, Paige McLaughlin, Donna Blackshear and husband Phil, Maci and Dyllon, Jamie Jeans, Sophie Waldrum, Lori Smith and family, Terri Smith and family, Shannon Jeans and family and Bill Curry and family. Graveside services are set for 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 3, 2013, at Garland Cemetery with Rev. Ron Kellam officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour before service time at the cemetery. Martha will be remembered by her green thumb. She loved to work in her yard and always had the most beautiful yard around. She was just so much fun and had lots of fun, but also a lot of hard work with six kids to care for. She was a member of Salem Baptist Church in Boxelder. She was a homemaker and worked for Phillips Industries until her retirement. Martha was a wonderful wife, mother, friend and a good Christian. She will be missed dearly, but heaven will be much better off.
