Obituary of Peggy Witmer Kelm

Peggy Witmer Kelm, age 80, of Clarksville, passed away, Friday, December 27, 2013, at ETMC Tyler. Peggy was born October 23, 1933, in Annona to Ernest Thompson and Myrtle Evelyn Joyner Witmer. Peggy served on the board of directors of the Clarksville Housing Authority and also volunteered her time at the Clarksville Food Bank and the local nursing homes. She served as chairperson for the Friends of the Library Thrift Store for over 20 years. Peggy was well known for her gardening skills along with her brother, Ernest. She was preceded in death by her sister, Ann Webb. Memorial services are set for 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 4, 2014, at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Mark Gossett officiating. Services are under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home. Survivors include a Daughter and son-in-law, Linda Jean and John Allen of Red Springs; three grandchildren, Kimberly Allen of Corpus Christi, David Allen of Tyler and Bryon “Bud” Allen of Austin; two great-grandchildren, Kynslee and Payton Allen of Tyler; two sisters, Kay Barnes of Mineola and Gail Huggins of Tyler; one brother, Ernest T. “Bub” Witmer of Clarksville and several nieces and nephews.
