Obituary of Margaret Nix Kerr

Margaret Thacker Nix Kerr, age 93, of Clarksville, passed away, Friday, May 23, 2014, at Clarksville Nursing Center. Mrs. Kerr was born November 5, 1920, in the Peters Prairie Community of Red River County, the daughter of Charley Glenn and Lillie May Rice Thacker. She was a member of the Aikin Grove Missionary Baptist Church and was active in the choir. Mrs. Kerr was a loving mother and grandmother and retired from AT&T. Mrs. Kerr was preceded in death by her husbands, Leroy Nix and Dean Kerr. Graveside services are set for 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 27, at Lanes Chapel Cemetery with Rev. James Brown officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Tuesday morning from 10:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Clarksville Funeral Home. Survivors include two sons, David Nix of Clarksville and Daniel Nix and wife Teresa of Clarksville; one daughter, Carolyn Durham of Clarksville; seven grandchildren, Alisha Rhoades, Ashlyn Petty, Brandon Nix, Brian Nix, Shawna Nix, Johnna Perkins and Larry D. Bean; and thirteen great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the Clarksville Nursing Center’s Resident Council fund, 300 E. Baker, Clarksville, Texas 75426.
