Obituary of Carl David Parris

Carl David Parris, age 61, of Texarkana, passed away, Saturday, May 31, 2014, at his residence. Carl volunteered many hours at the North Texas Food Bank in Texarkana. He also was a volunteer for the Red Cross and worked disaster relief during 911, in New York. He was born April 25, 1952, in Los Angeles, California to Carl Hoyt and Nancy Roberts Parris. He graduated from Clarksville High School in 1970 and served in the U.S. Army. Carl was a member of the Aikin Grove Missionary Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents. Graveside services are set for 10:00 a.m., Monday, June 2, 2014, at Old Shamrock Cemetery with Rev. James Brown officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home. Survivors include a daughter, Amanda Martin and husband, Danny of Clarksville; two brothers, Tom Parris and wife, Andrea of Clarksville and Steve Parris and wife Teresa of Winnsboro; and two grandchildren, Anastasia Martin and Katelynne Mauldin.
