Obituary of Franklin A. Matheny

Franklin A. Matheny, age 72, of Paris, passed away Monday, May 17, 2010, at Paris Regional Medical Center. Mr. Matheny was born January 9, 1938, in Yale, Oklahoma to Robert and Vinita Roberts Matheny. He served several tours of duty during the Vietnam War and retired as Staff Sargent in the U.S. Army. In his retirement years, his past time was taking care of his Quarter Horses. Funeral services are set for 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 22, 2010, in Lindeman Chapel of Clarksville Funeral Home with Rev. James Brown officiating. Burial will follow with full Military Honors in the English Cemetery under direction of Clarksville Funeral Home. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Couch Matheny of Paris; two sons, Mark Matheny of San Antonio and Mike Matheny of Yale, Oklahoma; two stepdaughters, Tammy Limbock of Paris and Terri Mitchell of Ft. Worth; a sister, Darlene DeWitt of Yale, Oklahoma; nine grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.
