Obituary of Adolph William Hausler
Adolph Hausler, age 90, of Clarksville, passed away Sunday, July 27, 2014, at Clarksville Nursing Center.
Mr. Hausler was born January 19, 1924, in Clarksville to Erich Frederich Felix Hausler and Hulda Marie Bethke Hausler. He was a lifelong member of St. John Lutheran Church in Clarksville and served for many years as its usher.
Adolph was a Clarksville High School graduate who enlisted in the U.S. Navy during World World II. He served honorably from 1943 until 1948. After Mr. Hausler’s discharge from the Navy, he returned to Clarksville and resumed his life as a cattleman in business with his brothers.
Adolph was a frequent patron of Red River County Library and especially loved to read books on ancient and medieval history. He liked being outdoors, enjoyed hunting and took real enjoyment from the business of agriculture. He could be an unpredictable man in the best possible way, and Adolph was always ready with a colorful remark or unsolicited act of generosity. He was lifelong bachelor, but he treated his nieces, nephews and their children as his own and was always active in family events. He was preceded in death by his parents: his brothers, Walter, Fred, Erick and Herman Hausler and his sisters, Gertrude Lueck and Clara Gilbert.
He is survived by his sister, Della Brown of Tyler and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services are set for 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 30, 2014, at St. John Lutheran Church with Pastor Mike Kimmel officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are Carl Hausler, Paul Hausler, Tony Hausler, Dalton Hausler, Mark Hausler, Tim Hausler, Jesse Hausler and Shane Hausler.
