Obituary of Melvin Lloyd Stinson
Melvin Stinson, age 72, of Avery, passed away Monday, September 29, 2014, at Sunny Acers Nursing Home. Mr. Stinson was born in the West Bowie Community on April 30, 1942. He was the son of Walter and Ollie Duncan Stinson. He was an avid gardener, enjoyed music and loved to play his guitar. He was preceded in death by his former wife, Lona Hines Stinson; his sisters, Christine Hutchison and Thelma Fretwell; and his brothers, Erby, Joe, Keeney, Horace and twin brother, Elvin Stinson.
Funeral services are set for 10:00 a.m., Thursday, October 2, 2014, in Lindeman Chapel of Clarksville Funeral Home with Bro. Jimmy Stinson officiating. Burial will follow in West Bowie Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home.

Survivors include two sisters, Bertha Burgess and husband Leonard of Dallas and Delma Goodwin and husband, Oscar of Kerrville; two brothers, James G. Stinson of Texarkana and Boss L. Stinson and wife Gertie of Maud; numerous nieces and nephews; to include nephew and caregiver, Jimmy Stinson and wife, Reba of Avery and niece and caregiver, Kandy Joyner and husband, David of Avery; former sister-in-law and special friend, Wanda Trimm of Avery; and former brother-in-law, Morris Trimm of Avery.
