Obituary of Sammie Parker

Sammie L. Parker, age 93, of Paris, passed away, Monday, November 24, 2014, at Paris Regional Medical Center. Mr. Parker was born December 31, 1920, in the Johntown Community of Red River County to Robert Henry and Myrtle Etta Riggs Parker. He served in the U.S. Army in the Pacific during WWII. His parents and 5 siblings preceded him in death. Sammie was an Auto Body Repairman by trade and retired from Jones Automotive of Paris after 40 years. After his retirement he moved to Queen City and was a member of the Atlanta Church of Christ. He recently moved back to Paris and resided at the Colonial Lodge. Graveside services are set for 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 29, 2014, at New Haven Cemetery with Benny Cogburn officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Saturday, from 10:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., at Clarksville Funeral Home. Honorary Pallbearers are Dale Sulsar, James Sprools, Jordan Parker, Rex Parker, Travis Parker and Claude Parker. Survivors include 2 sons, Larry Parker and wife, Martha of Reno and Kenneth Parker and wife, Lorie of Detroit; 2 grandchildren, Jordan Parker and Sarah Parker both of Detroit.
