Obituary of Josie E. Smiley

Josie E. Smiley, age 94, of New Boston, passed away, Friday, November 28, 2014, at her residence. Mrs. Smiley was born August 11, 1920, in Lydia to Erbin Huston and Lodia Izora Taylor Huckabay. She was a strong Christian woman, a loving caregiver and she loved to crochet. Josie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert Smiley; two sons, Robert Dewayne and Stanley Ray Smiley; three brothers and one sister. The family will receive friends Sunday night from 6 to 8 at Clarksville Funeral Home. Funeral Services are set for 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 1, 2014, at Friendship Baptist Church with Rev. James Brown, Rev. Bobby Peek and Rev. Lloyd Roper officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home. Survivors include 4 grandchildren, Kim Smallwood and husband Chris of New Boston, Patrick Smiley and wife Amanda of Wake Village, Michelle Johnson and husband Harley of Texarkana and Michael Smiley of Hooks; 4 great grandchildren, Madeline, Gracie and Hunter Smallwood and Madison Collumns; one niece, Janice Ross and husband Rusty of Bogata and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
