Obituary of James Leo Whitaker
James Leo Whitaker, age 88, of Clarksville, passed away May 8, 2015, at Christus St. Michael Hospital. Mr. Whitaker was born May 27, 1926, the son of James Claude and Hester May Glover Whitaker. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII and was of the Presbyterian faith. Leo was preceded in death by a son; Richard Whitaker; a daughter, Jimmie Marie Whitaker; and two sisters, Mary Elizabeth Enox and Frances Jean Hill. He was a retired truck driver.
Funeral services are set for 10:30 a.m., Thursday, May 14, 2015, in Lindeman Chapel of Clarksville Funeral Home with Rev. Jack Holt officiating. Burial will follow in Hopewell Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home.
Serving as pallbearers are Richard Wheeler, Robert Whitaker, Jacob Whitaker, Richard Boyett, Alec Boyett and Marshall Wheeler.
Honorary pallbearers are Greg and Tracy McPeters and Mark Wheeler

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Whitaker of Clarksville; 5 sons, David Leo Whitaker of Clarksville, James Whitaker of Clarksville, Darrell Whitaker of Alaska, Charles Whitaker of Washington and Joseph Whitaker of Chillicothe; 3 daughters, Diann Boyett of Detroit, Mary Lee Menefee of Paris and Margaret Ann Moore of California; 24 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; and 3 great-great grandchildren.
